Rules and Restrictions

Madison Electric Works takes the maintenance of its transmission rights-of-way for high-voltage lines seriously. There are numerous restrictions necessary to keep builders and contractors safe. For these restrictions, please call our office at 207.696.4401.

Request New or Upgrade Service

Signing up for your electric service is easy! All you have to do is visit our office located at 6 Business Park Drive. All adults living in the household must be listed on the account, but only one person needs to sign up.

You will need to bring:

• A photo ID, such as your driver’s license.
• If you are renting a property, bring a copy of your lease agreement.
• 3 credit references (can be another utility company such as cable or telephone)

There is a $25 activation fee.
